FIRE CHIP KELLY
I'm a University of Oregon alumnus (Class of '94), and Duck fan since the mid 1970's. I've been to nearly a hundred games at Autzen Stadium, and a handful of road games including every major bowl game in the last decade. I truly love the University of Oregon. I want to see us improve our reputation in collegiate athletics. I have no personal vendetta against Chip. I've met him at school events and found him to be a nice enough guy, but I hold us to a higher standard than most and I think we can do better.
I realize my views might put me in the minority right now with fellow Duck fans, but I'd love to hear your comments (drduck@firechipkelly.com). We share the common goal of excellence at Oregon, so please keep all correspondence civil.

Top 10 reasons Chip Kelly, head football coach University of Oregon, must go
10. Chip's an east coast guy, with no ties to the west. He will either leave for the NFL or the east coast in a few years anyway. Oregon is a stepping-stone program for him. Let's find someone who wants to be here for a long time and build a dynasty.
9. Chip's offensive innovations were great, but lately it seems like they've been figured out by other teams (Cal & Auburn last year, LSU this year). Instead of sticking with gimmicky schemes, let's find someone who can develop successful NFL talent (what the recruits really want to see in a program).
8. Chip's our guy if we want to win the Pac12 North every year, and play in a second-tier bowl game. We're now 0-4 under his leadership in big non-conference games (Boise St., tOSU, Auburn, LSU) when teams have time to prepare. Chip's not going to get us the natty.
7. Chip's a great offensive coordinator, but the demands of a modern major college football coach require more. He has clearly lost control of the program. I'll save fellow duck fans from the list of issues (from Blount to Harris). It's just a matter of time before he becomes the football version of Jerry Tarkanian.
6. Very average recruiting skill. We should be a dominant recruiting force. There were some nice pickups last year (Thomas etc.), but there's no reason Oregon should ever lose a head-to-head recruiting battle, especially with Phil's help. Kelly is turning recruits off.
5. Better coaches are available. There are some good ones out there who would love to fill the top coaching position on the west coast. Urban Meyer anyone?
4. Bad play calling. Chip doesn't seem to handle pressure well and makes very questionable game-time decisions. Running when we should obviously pass. Giving up on the run when it would get the job done and get us a W. I've broken 2 televisions because of his play calling (1 vs. Auburn, 2 vs. LSU).
3. Gives up on team. This quote after the LSU game was made by someone I don't want coaching my guys "They've (LSU) got a little bit different
athlete out there right now, looking at their D-line, standing next to
them, walking off the field, they don't look like the kind of guys we
see (play against when we're scoring 42 points a game).". Even if you feel that way Chip, keep in mind your players will read those comments in the paper and your defeatist attitude will lead them to give up. Is that what we want?
2. Coach Kelly isn't a good role model for the young men he coaches. His lies to John Canzano (who I don't like BTW) were pathetic. The cover-up is always the worst part because it goes to a person's character. This is why Ohio St. stepped up and fired Jim Tressel.
1. After the Willie Lyles matter is resolved, Chip will be targeted by the NCAA from here on. No program wants that kind of scrutiny with all of the things that can happen with boosters etc.
This video gets me pumped up. O Time! would be way better with a top notch head coach.
